Tis the season for gift giving! But shopping for your outdoors enthusiast adventure loving friends can be challenging. I would know – not only am I one of these people, but I’m also married to one. Top it all off with the recent swing towards minialism and we’re really in rocky territory. If only there were a handy list of Christmas gift ideas for the adventurer in your life!
Not to fret. I’ve put together a list of some of our most favourite adventure related products that our family regularly uses and loves. These items include everything from basic necessities to maybe slightly over-the-top bougie glamping indulgenges. But hey, some of us just really like our specialty coffee and the luxury of having access to it anywhere on the map, electricity or not. (Hint hint, that’s me. Subtle, right?) Okay, here’s what you’ll need for your friends and fam!
Here you’ll find a list of stocking stuffers, gifts under $100, and really fun and fantastic gifts for a budget of $100+.
Stocking Stuffers They’re Sure to Love
Kitsch Heatless Curlers
Just because a girl likes to rough it and sleep on the ground doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to have pretty hair! So no, these heatless hair curlers are probably not what a weekend camper is taking with them, but this is absolutely a roadtrip worthy purchase! It’s simple to use, comfortable to sleep in, and creates the most gorgeous curls! No heat means it’s hair healthy, and no electricity required. Bonus points: it’s actually faster than using a curling iron!
Shampoo Bar + Conditioner
If you haven’t used one of these yet you’re missing out. Shampoo bars are the perfect gift for adventure lovers because A. they actually work, and B. they are small and lightweight. There are plenty of brands on the market, but I really like these bars from HiBar. The scent isn’t strong so they don’t bother my allergies and intollerence to artifical fragrance (but they are not completely fragrance free if that’s what you’re in need of). But talk about better than packing an entire bottle of shampoo! And it’s eco friendly so baithing in the local creek is no biggie.
Shewee Female Urinal
Don’t laugh. Okay, actually yeah, do go ahead and laugh. This is pretty much what it sounds like – a female urinal to help the ladies pee while standing up. What’s the draw, you might ask? Well, not having to drop our pants to our ankles, squat real low like our knees don’t care, risk muddy pee splatter all over our legs then having to shake what our mama gave us just to get a semi decent drip-dry all before pulling the pants back up and praying no one saw us, might just be one reason. This strange contraption really does work though. You’ll feel like you’re peeing your pants until you get used to it, but assuming you position it right, all you’ll actually do is water the trees and keep the pants clean and dry. Want to give your friends a good laugh? This is a must-purchase.
Wool Socks
Who doesn’t love wool socks!? My husband was the first one in our family to get turned onto them. His draw was that because wool is more sanitary than other fabric he could get more wears out of his socks between washes. And when there’s no laundry near by, this is HUGE! Plus wool socks keep your feet warmer in cold weather and cool in hot weather. Today my husband ONLY wears wool socks, whether we’re adventuring or not, and Darn Tough is his brand of choice. They also come in ankle!
Black Drawing Salve and Arnica Salve from Earthley
These salves are fantastic! We stocked up on the drawing salve when we knew we’d be in bee territory since my kids tend to swell up. Arnica is also one of our go-to’s for injury, like buising or a twisted ankle. These are so handy and the perfect gift for anyones travel arsenal. Use code RAISINGWILD for 10% off your first order.
Badger Sunscreen
Zinc sunscreen is really the way to go if you must wear sunscreen. Most sunscreens on the market are awful for our bodies and destroy the oceans. But Badger is made with almost entirely organic ingredients and the tangerine + vanilla scent smells delicious! It also comes in a sunscreen stick for easy face application for kiddos.
Badger Lip Balm
You literally can’t go wrong throwing a couple chapsticks into the stocking! I love these Badger lip balms. They’re a great texture, stay on long, and smell great. My personal fav? Mint!
Roll Up Weaved Visor
Perfect for hiking, the beach, or ever day use, this little visor rolls up small so you can fit it in your purse, but opens to give you great sun protection. It’s the perfect little accessory to fit in anyones stocking this year.

Yeti Hot/Cold Travel Mug
Who doesn’t love a Yeti? My personal fav is this 20oz Yeti with the magnetic sliding hot drink top AND adding on the straw lid. I am always impressed by my Yeti’s ability to keep my hot drinks hot and my cold drinks cold. Especially when you’re living life exposed to the elements, an optimally temperatured drink makes all the difference between a good day and an excellent day. (Am I being dramatic? Probably not.)
Battery Pack
This handly little gadget is the perfect camping companion for keeping cell phones powered, or charging other small electronics. While we’re all about getting off the grid and away from cell phone towers, sometimes you still need some battery life to snap photos of your adventures. No judgement here for whipping out the cell phone in the woods.
Cliq Compact Camp Chair
Hubs has had his eyes on these forever! They pack up so small, set up easily, and are pretty comfortable, too. If you’re looking for a well made camping chair that is packable and hardly takes up any space, this is the chair for you! But if you like something a little more bougie and cushy…
Luxury Club Camp Chair
…then this is your chair. (Actually, this is my chair. I love this chair.) These chairs are not so friendly on the space saving aspect, but they make up for it in comfort. This is the curl-up-in-a-blanket-with-a-cup-of-coffee-and-a-book kinda chair. 0 regrets on this purchase!
Travel Aeropress
You need this. Seriously. When my husband first found this tiny coffee maker he was obsessed! It’s literally the only one he’s used now for well over a decade, travels or not. In the early days we got the original Aeropress, but when he found out there was a travel one that was the same size but packed up into a conveniently tiny travel pack, he was sold and never went back. The coffee tastes amazing, it’s esasy to clean, and simple to use. Win, win, win!
Stanley Pour Over
Pourover coffee that doesn’t require paper filters? Yesss! This is an entire coffee system in one. Well, except the coffee grinder and means of heating the water. But it does include the metal filter, pour over, and mug! So like, almost an entire coffee system in one.
Smartwool Thermal Base Layers
Because some friends are crazy enough to go adventuring in winter! Keeping warm while hiking or sleeping in your freezing cold tent is very important. I recently purchased Smartwool base layers because I needed something better than my cheap Target fleece leggings to keep me warm enough at night, and Smartwool did not disappoint! Available for both men and women and easy to wash, these are a fantastic gift for any adventure seeker!
Here you can find mens shirts, pants, and women’s shirts and pants.
Water Backpack
Every adventurer needs a water backpack! Who wants to lug a heavy water bottle around occupying one of our only two hands? Water backpack to the rescue. I’ve used this 2L pack from High Sierra for years and love it. It’s even a great size for my big kids to help carry on shorter trips when we share one bag. If you’re looking to outfit the whole family, I also really like this Camelback water backpack for kids in the 6-11 age range, and this one from Osprey for my 5 and under crew.
Grayl Water Filter
Speaking of packing water, this water filter is a hikers dream come true. It’s a water bottle with it’s own press filter inside! Often for my family I will only bring one water backpack and use this press to refill as needed when there’s fresh running water on our hike. No having to worry about getting sick from contaminated water, this baby filters it all! It also comes with us to hotels so we can filter drinking water straight from the sink.
Rechargeable Light
Having a rechargeable light has been perfect for camping trips! This thing is WAY smaller and more lightweight than a lantern, so it’s easy to throw into a backpack. You can hang it from a tree, in the tent, or wherever you need a little extra light. It charges quickly and stays light for hours.
New School Fanny Pack
So fanny packs are in again. This one is cute, but still works great for adventure. I love fanny packs because they’re hands free and you don’t have to worry about them falling off your shoulders. (Although this one can also be worn as a cross body bag!) It’s the perfect size to fit all your essentials when you’re out and about: wallet, keys, phone, plus a few other things. When I’m

Bellman Espresso Machine
Umm, real life fancy lattes in the middle of the woods? Heck yes please! This little stove top espresso machine and milk steamer is hands down the best I’ve ever seen and completely portable. I use this daily living in my trailer and it’s perfect to bring camping as well. All you need is a camping stove and some coffee!
Jetboil Camping Stove
For boiling water in less than a minute, this is going to be your go-to tool. Need water for coffee? Here you go. Just need to cook some hot dogs or ramen when you’re 300 miles from civilizaiton? No problem. Jetboil to the rescue! We’ve used this anywhere from camping and glamping, to hotel stays with coffee we refused to drink and roadside caffeine stops.
Coleman Camping Stove
For all your cooking needs that don’t require starting a wood fire first (or making more than ramen or hot dogs), this little stove has got your back. (You’ll also need it for making those killer lattes with your Bellman Espresso Machine!) This one is the slightly larger size, which is perfect for feeding a family.
Manual Coffee Grinder by Timemore
There’s nothing worse than waking up ready for your fresh cup of coffee and realizing you have whole bean and no grinder. Don’t be that person who doesn’t get their morning brew! This hand grinder is seriously like butter. It’s easily adjustable for various brewing methods, is quiet, and grinds in seconds for a single cup. Yes, there are cheaper ones on the market. Yes, we’ve tried them. And yes, you do want this one!
Blackstone Griddle
Okay so this particular griddle isn’t the most portable, but we’ve done it and so can your friends! This is the perfect tool for campers with a large family or lots of friends. With 4 burners and a large cast iron cooktop, this baby really cooks! We use this to regularly cook for our family of 7 and it’s made it’s rounds to campgrounds, too. When the whole group of friends heads to the campground for a big cookout, this is exactly the tool you’ll all want! If you’re looking for something more portable, you can also check out their smaller units.
ROC Inflatible Stand Up Paddleboard
These inflatible SUP boards are legit! We purchased two as a family Christmas gift and couldn’t be happier. They fold up for way easier travel, blow up in just a few minutes, and are fun for the whole family. The carrying case also doubles as a backpack so you can easily bring them on all of your water adventures. And if you’re not into standing, no worries! They also come with a kayak paddle so you can sit or kneel and still keep up.
SoloStove Smokeless Fire Pit
This little fire pit is every campers best friend. We like the “ranger” because it’s small enough to easily transport, but big enough to roast marshmallows and hot dogs. The fun thing about the SoloStove is that the kids get to go collect sticks to burn in it, so no biggie if you forget the firewood. If something smaller or bigger is more up your alley, you can explore their other sizes as well.
Electric Scooter
Electric scooters are all the rage these days, and kids (well, actually adults, too) are riding them through campgrounds on the daily. There are a ton on the market in a full range of prices, but we found this relatively budget scooter to be a solid choice.
Onewheel
Like a cross between an electric skateboard and a one wheeled segway, these are just plain fun. I make no money off of sharing this toy, it’s just a personal favourite to travel with. Small enough to take on the go, they’re perfect for cruising around the campground or riding around town.
